Jane Schmidt

Paralegal

I am the paralegal for the Opel Bash Group. I support our team by assisting in client relations, deed research and preparation, estate planning preparation, estate administration filings and publications, business creations, and assisting with real estate transactions.

I am an Edwardsville native and graduated with the Class of 1999. I completed two associate degrees through Lewis and Clark Community College. I achieved my Paralegal Certification through Eastern Illinois University and have since completed specialized classes in both Estate Planning Law and Real Estate Property Law. Prior to specializing in Estate Planning Law and Real Estate Property Law, I was a paralegal with a Workers’ Compensation team of a local office and worked in personal injury law and asbestos litigation.

I am excited to be a part of this team to improve the wellbeing of our community and businesses, as well as provide superior work for our clients.

In my spare time I enjoy a good meal around a table with family and friends. I also enjoy sitting on my back porch with my husband, Jay, and two sons, Zack and Alex listening to the guitar playing and singing. I am also a fan of a good yoga practice and book!

“Jane’s years of experience in the legal field have given her a keen eye for detail and amazing organization skills. Skills that are only rivaled by her obsession with plants!”
